I've been caught! AGAIN!!

If you still remember, our anti-virus system issooper dooper paranoid about external devices such as USB's, CD's, harddisks, etc. Once detected, it's gonna fire email alerts to Canada,Mexico, San Diego, Tennessee and Manila... and all the IT departmentfrom those locations will know that you're doing somethin' fishy. Soyeah, I've been caught last month playing mp3's that I've copied in aCD - little did I know that the Bryan McKnight song "Still" is infectedwith a virus! HA! So it's been a month now, I think... and I'veforgotten everything about it. And probably everyone who got that virusemail alert doesn't even remember that incident ever happened.So this evening, my PH manager spoke to me about generating areport for all the tickets that we've created for the last 3 months,sat beside me and took control of the mouse every once in a while,giving me instructions on what I should do, and I was just listening.He stood up and asked me to generate that report that I initially senthim. Zainel, my colleague, was sitting right next to me aswell - observing. My boss commented on how fast my typingwas... and said "Ba't di ka na langnagsecretary?" (Nyek!)Then a messagepopped up "An Invitation to Join a Conference", frombrewsterpalamuninlang... (YAHOO MESSENGER)I was too surprised, I didn't knowwhich window to close first hahahaha  Then my managersaid... "Yan, dapat kinoclose muna kasi ang YMeh..."And Zainel who was ever supportive said..."Kaya pala bilis magtype, chatter nachatter..."(*giggles*)... I just said "HEHEHE..." then gave him a wicked look... So I declined theinvitation to join the conference, but if I'd have the time I wouldhave typed in more than a "No, thanks" when I hit on that Declinebutton... and it's gonna be explicit!!!bwahahahaha!!!Darn, and I thought I did everything to hide it from my boss.I've hidden it from my taskbar, I saved the application folderunder someone else's profile, I deleted in on the Program List onStartup, I disabled the sound alerts, set everything to minimal viewand I even changed the yahoo icon to something that's not toosuspicious...I even had taskmanager ready and highligted yahoomessenger.exe so in case he comes byI could just end it! But then I totally forgot all aboutthat!!!  (Clever eh?)Good thing it was OK for him. So now at least, Iknow it's legal and my boss doesn't really care. I bet my life on it,he has it on his laptop too!  One of the techs from US evendetected limewire on his PC bwehehehehe.... Besides, we're IT!!! We should haveaccess to everything, RIGHT?!?So everything's OK... really nothinto worry about, I still am keeping my job. But it's just humiliatingwhen you get caught in the act... you know how it feels right? |
