I was browsing the internet when I encountered an article about a man who was able to install Mac OS X on an MSI Wind. Upon further research, I found that the install was fully functional and was fast enough to be a daily computer. So, I decided to create one myself.
I went to Gilmore Ave and found the cheapest MSI Wind for P24,800 from Foxcon, at Gilmore IT Plaza. It included Windows XP that will have to be erased eventually. Unfortunately, a Linux-based version is no longer being sold in the country. There goes my P1,000 premium for XP!
I found an extra 1GB RAM for P900 from PC Options. But since I have an iMac that uses the same type of RAM, I bought a 2GB sodimm and swapped it with my iMac's 1GB. Now my desktop has 3GB total and the laptop has 2Gigs.
Since I pre-downloaded the needed install, the process was straight forward. Burned the disc, inserted it on the external DVD drive, and booted up the wind.
The initial boot looks like this:

Don't forget to erase the hard drive with XP. Or you can swap it out with a similar form-factored 2.5 drive.

Installing takes around 30 minutes, which is fast:

Running iTunes, Adium, and Zohan on VLC. The Wind is just slightly slower than the Air.

After installing MS Office 2008, iLife, and a few games, the Wind is ready for business! It works with all the apps installed, and even launches MS Word faster than my iMac, which is 2.4Ghz.
What works: 1024x600 screen, Ethernet, USB ports, Keyboard, Trackpad, Webcam, Sleep, Bluetooth, Speakers, Audio controls
What doesn't work: Audio Jacks, WiFi
Workarounds: USB Wifi and USB Audio dongles work.
